Dim Background

The film that opens my site, “Bunny Boy” is short about a lonely child’s hope for a new playmate. It’s a study in style and anticipation. We shot on the RED camera, and it was quite a challenge to work with the snow and sky, it’s totally available light, available dolly, available rabbits. Like the best things, it’s a little “dangerous”.

Ruben O’Malley is a cinematographer and director who lives in Brooklyn, NY, though he has had numerous sightings all over the world. Recently he shot a doc in Gitmo, and a movie he shot “Harvest” has won awards at the Cleveland Film Festival. “Once More With Feeling” is playing on Sundance right now.
