The “Street Stops Here” is the story of the St. Anthony’s basketball team in Jersey City. It’s a Catholic High School that serves the local community and the greater New York area, providing hope and a great education to kids who might not get the attention they need. Of the young men who have played on the team, only 2 have not gone to college, in the last 35 years. In that time the team has won all but 3 state championships. This is story of the 2009 season, their “comeback” year, the players, the school and Bob Hurley. Superbly directed by Kevin Shaw and produced by Krista Saponara, this film will change people and give them hope for the future.
The film I worked on with Marc Meyers is having a screening in Cleveland in March (19th and 20th). This is a remarkable and very special film that I am very proud of. We shot on the Sony F23 and it is beautiful. The film is an intimate family portrait in a time of great change. We feel as if we share things through the family’s own documents of photos or home video. It embraces the idea of video, but does such a good job at HD, that you very quickly look past it and are submerged in the fantastic performances. Stars Robert Loggia (Big), Jack Carpenter (I Love You, Beth Cooper), Barbara Barrie (Breaking Away), Peter Friedman (The Savages), Arye Gross (Grey Gardens), Victoria Clark (2005 Tony, The Happening), and other incredible talents.
Been working on the new site for some time, hope it’s an improvement on the old (god rest it). There’s some new stuff in it, like this for instance. Please check it all out, let me know your thoughts. But mostly only if they are really clever or a compliment.
